COMMERCIAL ACCOUNTS MANAGER

The API Innovation Center (APIIC) is a non-profit entity in St. Louis, Missouri dedicated to delivering market-competitive commercial supply of U.S.-made Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and finished drug product to strengthen the domestic pharmaceutical supply chain. APIIC’s focus is on de-risking the commercialization and adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies, such as continuous flow chemistry, to successfully re-shore domestic production of API.

Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Acccounts Manager to lead our strategic initiatives with key commercial accounts, spearhead our healthcare system partnership program, and expand our current cancer drug commercialization program. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in expanding our customer base and enhancing our partnerships in the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Relationship Building:

  • Develop and nurture key relationships with industry stakeholders, partners, and customers to foster collaboration and mutual success
  • Identify and engage with strategic partners that align with the company’s goals and objectives
  • Leverage existing networks and establish new connections to enhance the company’s market position

Growth Opportunity Identification:

  • Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and potential growth opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess market demands and customer needs
  • Drive innovation by identifying new product/service offerings and market segments

Commercialization Strategies:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive commercialization strategies to maximize revenue and market share
  • Oversee positioning and messaging of products/services to optimize competitiveness
  • Evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of current customer success strategies

Matrixed Environment Integration:

  • Collaborate with leaders from various departments to ensure alignment with overall business objectives
  • Foster a culture of cross-functional collaboration and communication, excellence, and continuous improvement within a matrixed organizational structure

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in account management or customer success roles, with a significant portion in the healthcare industry
  • Proven track record in managing large accounts, preferably in the healthcare sector
  • Strong understanding of the cancer care market, particularly in cancer research and treatment
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
  • Strategic thinker with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset

Working Conditions:

  • This is a full-time position requiring flexibility in hours and availability for travel as needed
  • The role is predominantly hybrid office-based (in the office 3 days per week), but may involve visits to various company locations, conferences, and meetings with external partners
